How it works
Two rules, applied without exception
Almost everything about the product follows from these. They are worth understanding before you sign up, because they explain what you will and will not see.
1. Matching is the product
Both sides only ever see what genuinely fits. A hard requirement that fails does not push a result down the list — it removes it.
Studios see instructors who hold every required qualification, are available for the required day and time window, are inside the travel radius, and have an active profile.
Instructors see opportunities that match their qualifications, fit their stated availability, and fall inside the radius they chose.
Whatever passes all of that is scored from 0 to 100 and shown best first, so the strongest match is the one at the top.
2. There is no open messaging
A conversation can begin in exactly two ways:
- An instructor expresses interest in a specific listed opportunity
- A studio invites an instructor to discuss a specific listed opportunity they already match
There is no third way. No cold outreach, no networking messages, no contact without a live opportunity behind it.
This is enforced in the database rather than the interface. The only two operations that can open a thread re-check every matching rule on the server before they do. A modified client gets a permission error, not a conversation.
Common questions
Why am I not seeing any matches?
Matching uses your qualifications, travel radius and stated availability. If nothing appears, widen the radius or check your availability is current. Opportunities from a studio you run yourself are deliberately excluded.
Does expressing interest commit me to anything?
No. It opens a conversation with that studio about that class. Either side can decide it is not right, and nothing about your profile or future matches changes.
Who sets the rate?
The studio and the instructor, directly. Studio Connect is not a party to the arrangement, does not process payment and does not take a share of anyone's rate.
Do you check qualifications?
Instructors state what they hold and can upload supporting documents, and matching uses that. We do not stand behind it — studios remain responsible for their own checks before engaging anyone, which is the same position any studio is in today.
Is there a phone app?
Yes, for iOS and Android, and the website is the same product with the same account. Start on a laptop and carry on from your phone.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my account, on the web or in the app. Nobody will try to talk you out of it, and this page sets out exactly what is removed and what is kept.

Free to join. It runs in this browser — there is nothing to install unless you want the phone app.
