Matching is the product
Nobody wants another directory to scroll. Anything that fails a hard requirement is not ranked lower — it is not shown at all. What passes is scored and ordered best first.
Qualifications
A studio names what the class requires. Only instructors holding all of it are eligible — matched on what they hold, and studios still make their own checks.
Availability
Not just the day. The actual time window, against the availability an instructor has already set for themselves.
Travel distance
Measured against the radius each instructor chose. A class an hour beyond it simply never appears.
There is no open messaging
A conversation exists only when an instructor expresses interest in a specific opportunity, or a studio invites an instructor to discuss one. There is no cold outreach and no way to message someone out of the blue.
This is enforced in the database rather than hidden in the interface: no client can create a thread by any other route, whatever it sends.
What we are, precisely
Studio Connect provides a technology platform for introductions only. We are not a recruitment agency, an employment business, a staffing agency, a training provider or an employer.
We do not employ instructors, set rates, handle payment, or stand behind anyone's qualifications, insurance or suitability. Contracts, rates, payment and insurance are agreed directly between the studio and the instructor, and studios remain responsible for their own checks.
We think that is the honest description of what a marketplace is, and saying it plainly up front is better than discovering it in the terms.
